Printer: Narrow Carriage (80 Columns, 10″), 9 pins
Ribbon: SP-16051
Emulation(s): Epson FX-80, IBM 5152 Graphics Printer

DIP SWITCH SETTINGS

The DIP switches are located at the back of the printer. They are covered by a small plastic insert. For most uses, these switches can be left as they were set at the factory. Each switch has two positions: when the switch is moved down, it if OFF; when it is moved up, it is ON. The DIP switches are read after the initialization process either by turning the power switch on or inputting the INITIAL signal of the parallel interface.

Table 1
Note 1:
Standard and IBM modes are selected only by using DIP switch 1-5. There is no control code to designate Standard or IBM mode.

Note 2:
In Standard mode, the 1.5 K-bytes of RAM area is used as either download area or communication buffer. Therefore, when the DIP switch 1-6 is turned off, the printer has the 1.5 K-bytes communication buffer and when on, no communication buffer is available.

International Characters Selected by DIP Switches

Table 2
Note 1:
These character selections are valid for all character sets: Standard character set, IBM character set 1, and IBM character set 2.

Note 2:
When DENMARK is selected by the DIP switches in IBM character set 2 mode, code (9B)Hex, or (155)Decimal will print a small slashed-zero, and code (9D)Hex, or (157)Decimal will print a large slashed-zero.
